MediaHarbour Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 14, 2026
MediaHarbour is an Apple TV media client developed by Steeds IT Services. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the MediaHarbour application.
Information We Collect
MediaHarbour does not collect personal information for advertising, analytics, tracking, profiling, or marketing purposes.
MediaHarbour does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Steeds IT Services does not operate a MediaHarbour service that receives or stores your media library, viewing activity, Jellyfin credentials, IPTV playlists, programme-guide information, or other locally configured media information.
Jellyfin Servers
MediaHarbour allows you to connect to a Jellyfin server that you choose.
Information required to connect to your Jellyfin server, such as its network address and authentication credentials or access tokens, may be stored locally on your Apple TV so that MediaHarbour can reconnect to the server.
Media requests, library information, authentication information, and other Jellyfin communications are transmitted directly between your Apple TV and the Jellyfin server you configure. Steeds IT Services does not operate, intercept, or receive this traffic.
The privacy, security, availability, and content of a Jellyfin server are the responsibility of its owner or operator.
IPTV, M3U and Programme Guides
MediaHarbour allows you to configure your own M3U playlists and XMLTV programme guides. Playlist and programme-guide information may be downloaded, processed, and cached locally on your Apple TV to provide Live TV and related features.
MediaHarbour is not an IPTV service and does not sell or provide subscriptions to television channels or third-party IPTV services.
MediaHarbour may include a clearly identified demonstration playlist or stream containing openly licensed demonstration content. The current demonstration content includes Big Buck Bunny, © 2008 Blender Foundation / bigbuckbunny.org, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 (CC BY 3.0) license. This demonstration content is included solely to demonstrate MediaHarbour’s playback functionality and may be removed or replaced by the user. Additional attribution and license information is available on our Licenses & Attribution page.
When MediaHarbour connects to an IPTV playlist, media stream, or programme-guide source configured by you, information is exchanged directly between your Apple TV and that source. The source provider’s own privacy practices and terms apply to those connections.
Users are responsible for ensuring that they have permission to access and use media sources they configure in MediaHarbour.
Local Network Uploads
MediaHarbour may provide a local network interface that allows you to transfer M3U playlists and XMLTV programme guides from another device on your local network to your Apple TV.
Files transferred using this feature are processed and stored locally on your Apple TV. They are not uploaded to or stored by Steeds IT Services.
The local network interface is intended for use on networks you trust.
Subtitles and OpenSubtitles
MediaHarbour may provide functionality for searching for and retrieving subtitles from OpenSubtitles, an independently operated third-party service.
When you use this functionality, MediaHarbour may transmit information necessary to perform a subtitle search to OpenSubtitles. This may include information identifying the media for which subtitles are requested, such as the title, episode information, release information, or other media identifiers.
Your Apple TV also communicates with OpenSubtitles over the Internet when performing subtitle searches or downloading subtitles.
Steeds IT Services does not receive or store information transmitted directly between MediaHarbour and OpenSubtitles as part of a subtitle search or download.
OpenSubtitles may process information according to its own privacy policy and terms. Use of OpenSubtitles functionality is subject to the policies and availability of that service.
Purchases and Subscriptions
MediaHarbour may offer subscriptions, free trials, or one-time purchases through Apple’s In-App Purchase system.
Purchases and payment information are processed by Apple. MediaHarbour uses Apple’s StoreKit services to determine whether you have an active trial, subscription, or purchased entitlement.
Steeds IT Services does not receive or store your payment-card information.
Apple’s handling of information associated with your Apple ID, purchases, and App Store transactions is governed by Apple’s own privacy policies and terms.
Data Sharing
Steeds IT Services does not sell, rent, or trade personal information collected through MediaHarbour.
MediaHarbour does not share your media activity or locally stored application information with advertisers or data brokers.
When you choose to connect MediaHarbour to a Jellyfin server, IPTV source, programme-guide provider, OpenSubtitles, or another third-party service, your Apple TV communicates with that service as necessary to provide the functionality you requested.
Data Storage and Security
MediaHarbour stores application preferences and information necessary to access services you configure locally on your Apple TV.
Authentication credentials or access tokens are stored using Apple-provided security mechanisms where appropriate.
No method of storing or transmitting information is completely secure. Users are responsible for the security of servers, network services, and media sources they configure for use with MediaHarbour.
Data Retention and Deletion
Steeds IT Services does not maintain a MediaHarbour user account or cloud database containing your Jellyfin credentials, media library, IPTV playlists, programme-guide information, viewing activity, or application preferences.
Information stored by MediaHarbour is primarily retained locally on your Apple TV for as long as it is required to provide the features you configure.
Where MediaHarbour provides an option to remove a configured server, playlist, programme guide, cached information, or other locally stored information, you may use that option to remove the corresponding information from the application.
Deleting MediaHarbour from your Apple TV will generally remove application data stored locally by MediaHarbour, subject to Apple’s platform behavior.
Information held independently by a Jellyfin server, IPTV provider, programme-guide provider, OpenSubtitles, Apple, or another third party must be managed through that service or provider.
Children
MediaHarbour is a general-purpose media client and is not specifically directed toward children.
MediaHarbour does not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising, analytics, tracking, profiling, or marketing purposes.
The media and other content accessible through MediaHarbour are determined by the Jellyfin servers, playlists, media sources, and other services configured by the user.
Third-Party Services
MediaHarbour interoperates with independently operated software, servers, and services, including Jellyfin, Apple services, OpenSubtitles, and user-selected media sources.
When you choose to use these services, your Apple TV may transmit information necessary to perform the function you requested directly to the applicable service.
Third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
Steeds IT Services does not control and is not responsible for the privacy, security, availability, content, or data-handling practices of independently operated third-party servers and services.
MediaHarbour is an independent application and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jellyfin, OpenSubtitles, Apple, or other third-party services unless explicitly stated.
